JORGE REYNOLDS POMBO
Jorge Reynolds Pombo, born on June 22, 1936, in Bogotá, Colombia, is a renowned electrical and bio-engineer recognized for his significant contributions to the medical field. Reynolds completed his school years in Bogotá and later attended Trinity College at Cambridge, England, where he gotan undergraduate degree in electronic engineering. His career is marked by his pioneering work in the development of the pacemaker, a device that has revolutionized cardiac care worldwide.
In 1958, Reynolds designed and built an external pacemaker powered by a 12-volt battery. This device was successfully connected to a patient, marking a significant milestone in medical technology. His work didn't stop there. In 1971, he designed and built a telemetry transmitter and receiver for electrocardiograms. Reynolds' research extends beyond human medicine. He has conducted numerous expeditions tostudy the hearts of whales, discovering similarities between cetacean and human hearts. This research has led to the application of findings from animal studies to human medicine.
Currently, Reynolds is working on the design of a "nanopacemaker", a device as small as one-third of a grain of rice that does not require a battery. He also serves as the director of the Research Department in Electronics and Nanotechnology at the Shaio Clinic in Colombia.
Throughout his career, Reynolds has received three honorary doctorates in medicine and is a member of numerous scientific societies in Colombia and abroad. His work continues to impact the field of cardiology, demonstrating the power of innovation and dedication.

DEAR MS PETRONA CALLENA
I am writing to apply for the position of Mechanical Engineer at PRIME Refrigeration, as advertised on your company's website. With my strong background in mechanical engineering and passion for innovative refrigeration solutions, I am confident in my ability to contribute to PRIME Refrigeration's success.
I am a student of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad del Atlántico, where I have gained a solid foundation in the principles of mechanical design and analysis. My coursework and projects provided me with hands-on experience in applying engineering concepts to real-world problems. Additionally, I have 2+ of experience working in the mechanical engineering field, where I have successfully designed and implemented various mechanical systems.
During my time at Civiltech, I successfully applied my skills and knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, CAD software, and project management to deliver high-quality results within budget and deadline. One of my main achievements was reducing the material costs by 15% for a bridge construction project, by optimizing the design and selecting more efficient and durable materials. I also collaborated effectively with other engineers, contractors, and clients, ensuring clear communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
I am excited about the opportunity to join PRIME Refrigeration and contribute to your mission of delivering sustainable and efficient refrigeration solutions. I am confident that my technical skills, passion for engineering, and dedication to excellence align perfectly with your company's values.
